Auger Bore Thrust Force & Casing Stress Analysis
Horizontal auger boring pushes a steel casing through the ground while an auger removes the spoil. This calculator computes the jacking thrust the boring machine must develop — the sum of soil-skin friction along the casing and end bearing at the face — and the resulting axial and buckling stresses in the casing.
The thrust estimate sizes the boring machine and the thrust wall/reaction block; the casing-stress check confirms the pipe survives the push.

- Required jacking thrust force (skin friction + end bearing)
- Axial and buckling stress in the casing during the push
- Sensitivity to soil type, bore length, and casing diameter
- Thrust-wall / reaction-block load
